Promoting DJ Collin Airey

In a career spanning over 16 years, Colin has made the transition from local bars and clubs in the North West to playing in some of the biggest clubs around the world.
Starting off in Liverpool, he began to create a new sound of funky and vocal house which attracted promoters from the cities leading club, Garlands. It was there that he served his apprenticeship, building up a very respectable name for himself as a DJ.
From there, he became resident at some of the top nights in the North West of England, such as Club 051, Sunrise, The World (Warrington), Club Zinc (Rhyl) and in 1998 was asked to play on the Miss Moneypenny’s tour.
In 2002 he became a resident DJ for Cream and was asked to go on tour with them in Greece and Cyprus where he was a weekly resident at Cream Ayia Napa, Falaraki and also Zante.
In September 2004 he left Garlands after nearly 9 years and became resident at one of Liverpool’s most exciting clubs, Society.
It was whist playing at Society; he was given the chance to work with some of the worlds most respected producers, including Jose Nunez and Stonebridge.
After 2 fantastic years the time was right to move on and he was lucky enough to join Ministry of Sound, where he played on various tours across the UK before being given the chance to play for Hed Kandi at the end of 2006, where he remained resident until 2010.
When joining Hed Kandi, Colin played all over the world, working in some of the industries most prestigious venues. In countries including Brazil, Mexico, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Korea, Singapore, South Africa, USA and Russia, as well as playing all over Europe.
Last summer he played twice in one the world’s best clubs, Space in Ibiza.
This is without doubt the highlight of his career so far.
